11 January, 2011 - Prime Minister Lyonchhoen Jigmi Y Thinley arrived in Dhaka yesterday coinciding with the day of the Father of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s release from Pakistan jail on 10 January 1972.

The Lyonchhoen was received at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with a 21 gun salute where Bangladesh prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also came to receive the Lyonchhoen. Lyonchhoen Jigmi Y Thinley was also received with a guard of honour at National mausoleum, Savar where he laid wreath, planted a sapling and signed the visitor’s book. Foreign minister of Bangladesh, Dr. Dipu Moni and the Advisor (Economic Affairs) to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Dr. Mashiur Rahman called on Lyonchhoen. Today the Lyonchhoen will call on the President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh where two MoUs will be signed. He will also deliver a talk on GNH at the Dhaka University.
